GLA | MBA Service Project
The GLA | MBA Service Project pairs GLA undergraduates with MBA teams for applied leadership opportunities working with local non-profits, managing project expectations, and creating data-driven recommendations. This is a comprehensive, hands-on, 16 week semester-long project.

Earning Criteria
Required
Participants undergo a competitive selection process with the following eligibility requirements:
Must have successfully completed a minimum of one GLA program requirement with a score of 3 or higher
Duration and Modality:
• 16 week, in-person comprehensive experiential learning project
Learning Outcomes:
To further develop students’ communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and leadership skills
To apply knowledge and skills learned in the MBA classroom to address organizational challenges in a nonprofit environment
To help students understand and appreciate the importance of corporate citizenship, volunteerism, and giving back to the communities in which they live and work
Application Activities:
Training provided by Alex Andrade, Program Manager, CyBIZ Labs , and Sarah L. Wilson, Ph.D., Director, Professional Masters Student Services, on client interaction, project management and teamwork
Attend and contribute to weekly internal meeting and bi-weekly client updates to review progress
Assessment:
Upon completing the project, students present an executive summary and final presentation and are assessed using the following criteria (judge score card/rubric)

MBA service learning projects is a volunteer learning experience for first-year MBA students – specifically focused on supporting area non-profit organizations. Non-profit organizations interested in participating undergo an application process from which a limited number of projects are selected each spring.

The Gerdin Leaders Academy (GLA) is a program aimed at increasing the involvement of early program, transfer and/or international students in the Ivy College of Business led and managed through the Ivy College of Business Career Services office.
