Earning Criteria
Required
Participants are awarded the Advanced AI Techniques badge, recognizing their ability to apply AI principles and techniques effectively in real-world contexts and part of a larger Certificate in Translational AI pathway.
Enrollment and Course Completion: Participants must enroll in and complete a minimum of 3, 4-week online courses in the Advanced AI Techniques program offered by the institution. These courses focus on practical applications of AI principles, including implementing machine learning models using PyTorch and Python to design, evaluate model performance, conducting and deploying SciML, GNN and SSL. Course options include:
Scientific Machine Learning
Graph Neural Network
Self-Supervised Learning
Parallelism in Deep Learning
3D Vision - NeRFs & INRs
Reinforcement Learning
Project Work: Participants must demonstrate their ability to apply AI concepts and techniques through hands-on projects, case studies, and simulations.
Assessment: Participants must demonstrate proficiency in course material through satisfactory completion of assignments, quizzes, exams, or other assessment measures as defined by the course instructors.
Attendance: Participants are encouraged to actively engage in any online learning activities and discussions.
Grade Requirement: Participants must maintain a passing grade in all courses as specified by the institution.
About TrAC
The Translational AI Center will break down disciplinary silos to bring together core Iowa State artificial intelligence researchers and subject matter experts interested in applying new technologies to their work. The center will initially focus on conducting core artificial intelligence research, as well as pursuing five application areas of artificial intelligence:
Materials design and manufacturing
Biology, healthcare, and quality of life
Autonomy, intelligent transportation, and smart infrastructure
Food, energy, and water
Ethics, fairness, and adoption.
In addition to serving as a scientific hub for translational artificial intelligence, the center will organize research seminars, host workshops, training, and onboarding programs, offer seed funding for research projects, and serve as an intermediary between private industry partners seeking research services and appropriate university faculty.
