Earning Criteria
The content of the training covers key topics, including different language functions, criteria used to measure test-takers' spoken English language proficiency, and adaptive test protocols. This micro-credential is earned after successfully:
Finishing five self-paced online, asynchronous modules
Completing formative assessment with practice ratings in asynchronous modules
Completing summative assessment with ratings of 10 OECT sample tests
Achieving 80% or higher on the summative assessment
Learning outcomes
After completing this training, participants will be able to:
Identify the Oral Proficiency Interview and TEACH components of the OECT
Explain the criteria and rating scale for the OECT components
Rate the OECT components using the given rubric
Assessment
Participants rate 10 OECT test samples and submit their OECT scores.
OECT scores will be evaluated by the Iowa State University OECT program supervisor ensuring a minimum score of 80% or higher using OECT rubric.
Participants may receive more test samples to review and submit until an 80% minimum score is achieved.
Attendance
Participants must complete all self-paced modules in the learning management system.
Grade Requirement
Participants will complete all learning quizzes and formative practice ratings in the learning management system.
Participants must achieve a minimum score of 80% accuracy with the OECT rubric in the summative assessment.
